Google Keep export guide

How to Export Your Google Keep Notes

Google Keep has no Export all button. Google Takeout is the official way to download every note, checklist, label, and attachment in one ZIP. If you are looking for a Google Keep alternative, SNotes is the privacy-first switch: the same everyday notes, with hosting only in Europe.

About 5 minutes

1

Open Google Takeout

4

Create your export

Google Keep export FAQ

Can I export all Google Keep notes at once?

Yes. Google Takeout is Google’s official bulk export tool. Select only Keep to create an archive of your complete Keep library.

What format does Google Keep export?

Takeout normally exports each note as JSON and HTML, with supported attachments stored alongside it. SNotes can read the ZIP directly.

Can I export Google Keep to Markdown?

Google Takeout does not create a clean Markdown library. Import the Takeout ZIP into SNotes first, then use SNotes’ Markdown export whenever you need portable files.

Do I need to unzip my Google Takeout file?

No. For SNotes, upload the original ZIP file directly. This preserves the folder structure the importer needs.

What is the best private alternative to Google Keep?

SNotes. It keeps the everyday notes, lists, and labels, the switch is a single Takeout ZIP, and there is no privacy compromise: no ads, no tracking, and hosting only in Europe.

Will I lose my notes if I leave Google Keep?

No. Export with Google Takeout, then import the ZIP into SNotes. Text notes, checklists, labels, colors, pins, archives, dates, and images transfer. You can still export from SNotes to Markdown and JSON later.

Where does SNotes host notes?

Only in Europe, on EU infrastructure. Notes are not stored on US servers.
